DXF Viewer

Nesting Wizard

Free Online DXF Viewer & Analyzer

View DXF files in your browser, detect parts and holes, inspect dimensions, download individual parts as DXF or SVG, and send them into Sheet2Nest nesting—no account required to analyze.

Sheet2Nest DXF Viewer is a free browser tool that uses the same geometry engine as nesting: upload an ASCII DXF, inspect the drawing with zoom and pan, review detected parts and holes, open detailed part metrics, and export single parts. When you are ready, Nest These Parts restores the same geometry in the nesting wizard without re-uploading.

The live tool is at /tools/dxf-viewer— open it anytime without signing in.

How the DXF Viewer works

A simple path from drawing to parts to nesting—built on Sheet2Nest's existing DXF engine.

  1. Step 1

    Upload a DXF

Drop an ASCII DXF—parsing runs in your browser.

No account required to open and analyze the file. Binary DXF is not supported; export ASCII from CAD.

  2. Step 2

    View & analyze

Zoom, pan, and review part counts, holes, and metrics.

The same geometry engine used for nesting classifies closed contours as parts and contained shapes as holes.

  3. Step 3

    Inspect & download

Open part details and export individual DXF or SVG files.

Each download contains only the selected part—useful for extraction, documentation, or sharing a single blank.

  4. Step 4

    Nest these parts

Send detected parts into the nesting wizard without re-uploading.

Sign in only when you start nesting. Sheet2Nest restores the parsed parts automatically.

What you can do

Part & hole detection

Closed contours become parts; contained loops become holes—aligned with nesting classification rules.

Reliable metrics

Bounding size, area, and cut length when geometry supports them—no fabricated values.

Single-part exports

Download one part as DXF or SVG without exporting the entire original drawing.

From viewer to nesting

Detected parts use the same canonical geometry as the nesting wizard. Click Nest These Parts to continue into Sheet2Nest without uploading the DXF again—ideal for shops that want a free inspect-and-extract step before production nesting.
