Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 2026

1. Introduction

Sheet2Nest ("we", "us", "our", or "Company") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

We take the confidentiality of your CAD designs and DXF files seriously. Your geometry is yours — we process it only to deliver nesting and quoting features to you, and we do not treat uploaded designs as a commercial asset.

By using Sheet2Nest, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the data practices described, please do not use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We collect information that you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Create an Account: Email address, password (or Google sign-in), and profile details you choose to provide (such as name)
  • Use the Service: DXF files, parts and sheet settings, nesting and cost-calculator inputs, saved quotes, and other content you upload or create
  • Classroom seats (when applicable): Student email addresses a teacher adds to their Classroom roster
  • Contact Us: Name, email address, and any information you provide in support or contact forms
  • Subscribe: Billing is handled by our payment processors; we receive subscription status and related billing metadata, not your full card number

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Usage and quota data: Feature use such as uploads, nesting jobs, exports, and calculator actions needed to enforce plan limits
  • Device and browser information: Approximate device/browser type, IP address, and similar technical identifiers
  • Log and diagnostics data: Access times, error and parse logs, and performance signals that help us operate and secure the Service
  • Product analytics: Page views and interaction events used to understand how the product is used (see cookies below)

2.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain your session and authenticate you (required for signed-in features)
  • Remember preferences such as theme
  • Measure product usage and site performance (for example Microsoft Clarity session analytics, Google Analytics, and Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may limit signed-in or analytics features, but core nesting still works where the Service does not require them.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Service: Parse DXF files, run nesting, generate quotes/cost estimates, and deliver exports (DXF, SVG, PDF) you request
  • Manage Your Account: Create and maintain your account, apply plan limits, process subscriptions, and handle billing status
  • Classroom features: Let teachers invite students by email and apply student entitlements while a Classroom subscription is active
  • Communicate with You: Send service-related notices (for example usage, billing, password reset, classroom seat notices) and respond to support
  • Improve the Service: Analyze aggregated usage and diagnostics to fix bugs and improve reliability (without using your DXF designs as AI training data — see Section 5)
  • Ensure Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Comply with Legal Obligations: Meet legal requirements, respond to legal processes, and enforce our Terms
  • Product updates and marketing: Occasional product or promotional emails; you can unsubscribe via the link in those emails or by contacting us

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell, license, publish, or share your DXF files or design geometry with other customers or the public.

We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We use trusted third-party processors to operate Sheet2Nest. Categories and typical providers include:

  • Infrastructure & database: Supabase (authentication, database, and private file storage) and Vercel (application hosting)
  • Payments: Lemon Squeezy (and, where configured, Paddle) for checkout and subscription billing; card data is handled by the processor, not stored by us as full card numbers
  • Email delivery: Transactional and operational email providers (for example Resend, SendGrid, or SMTP) for account, billing, and support messages
  • Analytics & performance: Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, and Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights for product and performance measurement

These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us. They are not authorized to sell your DXF files or use them to train their own AI models for unrelated products.

Classroom note: When a teacher adds a student email to a Classroom roster, that email is stored so we can link the student account and apply classroom entitlements. We do not publish student rosters to other customers.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to:

  • Valid legal processes (subpoenas, court orders, warrants)
  • Government requests or regulatory requirements
  • Protection of our rights, property, or safety
  • Prevention of fraud or illegal activity

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections.

4.4 With Your Consent

We may share your information with third parties when you explicitly consent to such sharing.

5. DXF Files and Design Confidentiality

Your uploaded DXF files and the designs they contain are confidential to you. You retain ownership of your User Content. We process that content only as needed to provide Sheet2Nest to you.

5.1 Why we may temporarily store DXF source files

When you upload a DXF file, we may store a copy in secure private storage solely so our support and engineering team can diagnose and reproduce DXF parsing issues (for example, failed or incomplete parses). Nesting and quoting run on the geometry derived for your session; stored source files are not shared with other users and are not used as a public library of parts.

5.2 What we never do with your designs

  • We do not sell, license, rent, or commercially redistribute your DXF files or design geometry
  • We do not share your DXF files with other Sheet2Nest users or make them publicly available
  • We do not use your DXF files or design geometry to train, fine-tune, or improve artificial intelligence / machine-learning models (ours or a third party's)
  • We do not use your designs as marketing samples, case studies, or demos without your explicit prior written consent

5.3 Access controls

Access to stored DXF source files is limited to authorized Sheet2Nest personnel on a need-to-know basis for support and parsing quality. Files are stored in private infrastructure with access controls; they are not browsable by other customers.

You may request earlier deletion of stored DXF source files associated with your account by contacting info@sheet2nest.com.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest
  • Secure authentication and access controls
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Limited access to personal information and uploaded files on a need-to-know basis
  • Secure data centers with physical and digital safeguards

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Please notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service to you
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
  • Maintain business records

Uploaded DXF source files: Stored DXF source files kept for parsing diagnosis are retained only as long as needed for that purpose. We review and permanently delete these archives on a regular basis, and you may request earlier deletion at any time. Account metadata (such as parse status or error summaries without the raw file) may be retained longer for support and product reliability.

If you request account closure, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes (for example subscription/tax records). Stored DXF source files associated with your account are also deleted in that process.

Generated outputs you choose to download (nested DXF, SVG, PDF, quotes) remain under your control once downloaded. Copies we hold for delivery or short-term recovery follow the same confidentiality rules as above.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

8.1 Access and Portability

You have the right to access your personal information and receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

8.2 Correction

You can update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us.

8.3 Deletion

You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at info@sheet2nest.com. We will honor such requests subject to legal and contractual obligations (for example billing records we must keep).

8.4 Objection and Restriction

You may object to certain processing of your information or request restriction of processing in specific circumstances.

8.5 Opt-Out

You can opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by emailing us. Service and billing notices may still be sent when needed to operate your account.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at info@sheet2nest.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country.

By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your information receives adequate protection in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
  • Right to delete personal information
  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise these rights, contact us at info@sheet2nest.com.

12. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

  • Right of access to your personal data
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restrict processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to withdraw consent
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Our legal basis for processing your information includes: contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, and legal compliance.

13. Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Privacy Policy on our website
  • Sending an email to the address associated with your account
  • Displaying a notice within the Service

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
